At 06:27 on 03/18/06, Cedar Hammock Fire Rescue responded to a report of a vehicle fire at the 6800 block of 14 St W. Upon arrival, at 06:29, firefighters found several vehicles heavily involved in fire at Alex Karras Lincoln Mercury, 6760 14 St. W.
Firefighters initiated a fire attack and had the situation under control at 06:40. The fire was totally extinguished by 06:55. he fire heavily damaged four new Lincoln Navigators, which are considered a total loss. Damage is estimated at $200,000.00.
A total of 2 Cedar Hammock Engine Companies, a Battalion Chief and Investigators responded with a total of 11 personnel. There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters. The fire cause is considered suspicious and is under investigation. The Florida State Fire Marshal’s Office is assisting with the investigation.
