April 12, 2007 Structure Fire

Cedar Hammock and Southern Manatee fire units responded to a commercial structure fire at 7980 South Tamiami Trail. The call was received at 11:04. Units arrived on scene at 11:07 finding heavy smoke coming from Platinum Dreams. This business was attached to the rear of S and S Convenience Store. Fire units made an interior fire attack and quickly brought the fire under control. Three engine companies, one truck company, and command staff units responded. No firefighter or civilian injuries were sustained. Fire damage was estimated at $50,000. Fire cause is under investigation.
