On September 10, 2010, a 3-alarm blaze broke out at Avalon Square Apartments in the Cedar Hammock Fire Control District. Zack Hillabrand was awarded the Life Saving Award for his quick response to a smoke alarm of a neighboring apartment and calling 9 1 1, which resulted in saving two lives. Zack was also instrumental in identifying the initial location of the fire, which greatly assisted with the fire investigation. |
On December 2, 2010, a fire broke out at a home in Pescara Lakes Mobile Home Park. On this night, Donald and Mary Lehman saw fire under a neighboring mobile home. Knowing their neighbor lived alone, Donald and Mary immediately responded to help their friend escape the fire. Don and Mary were awarded the Life Saving Award for their courageous actions in saving a life during a structure fire. |
