Deputy Chief Brett Pollock of West Manatee Fire Rescue is an instructor for the National Fire Academy's program that promotes firefighter life safety "Everyone Goes Home"

The class incorporates leadership, management, supervision, accountability and personal responsibility taught to local firefighters from Cedar Hammock Fire Rescue and West Manatee Fire Rescue.

A Certificate of Appreciation was awarded to
Robert Dugan for the unselfish act of rescuing
a 4-year old boy from near-drowning
on March 24, 2009. Cedar Hammock Fire Rescue personnel believe that this child
might not have made it if not for the heroic actions of Mr. Dugan.
