Structure Fire, 3700 14th Street West

At 21:29hrs on 2/01/09 Cedar Hammock Fire Rescue responded to a reported structure fire at 3700 14 Street West. First due company arrived within 2 minutes finding a vacant commercial building approximately 25% involved. No injuries were reported. Crews remained on scene for several hours to assist with complete extinguishment and overhaul of the fire. Cedar Hammock responded with a total of 3 Fire engines and a Battalion Chief with a total of 12 Fire Department personnel. The fire was investigated by Cedar Hammock Fire Investigators, Deputy Fire Marshal Lapthrop from WMFR assisted with the use of his arson canine dog, and the State Fire Marshals office was also called in due to the suspicious nature of the fire. The fire was labeled undetermined. Due to the existing condition of the structure estimated loss was 20,000 dollars. |
